fine balance between educational value and game play.
Video Game Review:
Using an academic style and the format
below, prepare an 8 -10 slide PowerPoint presentation reviewing your chosen
game.
Section 1 : General Information
Use the games’
official websites as well as other internet sources to research general
information about the simulations or game.
In effect, answer as many as possible of the following:
- the
“who” (developers)
- the
“what” (brief description)
- the
“where” (location developed)
- the
“when” (year)
- the
“why” (why was game created?)
Section 2: Summary
Give a general summary
of how the game is played. Show that you
have explored all the features of the games.
Some questions you can answer include:
- What
does the player do? (what actions does he/she take?)
- What
are the player’s goals? (what is he/she striving to achieve?)
- What
challenges does the player face and what makes achieving them a struggle?
- What
are the (general) rules?
- What
are the possible outcomes?
Section 3: Connection to the real
world
Explain how the
games simulate the real world? Some
questions you can answer include:

are some of the hardships you come up against?

are some of the choices you are forced to make?
