Minutes

 

      1             Welcome, Apologies, Minute taker

2             Car parking problems

·         Paul Jones identified the problem of lack of space

·         Mike Mckay and Peter Hemby raised the issue of incorrect parking

·         John Hurst mentioned that parking lanes too small for some cars

3             Car parking solutions

·         Paul Jones suggested a multi story car park. An alternative suggestion was an underground car park.

·         Peter Hemby put forward the idea of having buses to pick up students. The suggestion was made to have a student survey to see if they would use a college bus.

·         John Hurst suggested using empty areas for extra parking

·         Mike Mckay proposed separate morning and afternoon classes.

·         Action item: Peter Hemby to design a short questionnaire for a survey.

·         Action item: Paul Jones to make a feasibility study of multi story or                                     underground car park.

·         Action item: Mike McKay and John Hurst to investigate possibility of                                  separation of morning and afternoon classes. 

 

4          Recommendations

·         Report should be presented to Academic Services

·         Mike Mckay thought that Student Council would be better

·         John Hurst suggested the Director should be informed

·         Meeting decided to defer decision until next meeting
